Vos Logistics strengthens market position with acquisition of Gehlen Schols Logistics

European logistics service provider Vos Logistics has reached an agreement today on the takeover of the family business Gehlen Schols Logistics in Kerkrade. With this takeover, Vos Logistics strengthens its proposition in the Benelux and Germany for partial and complete loads in the automotive, construction, chemical and paper industries. In addition, the company has a storage capacity of 10,000 m2 in Kerkrade.

Gehlen Schols has a turnover of € 20 million and 120 employees, and will continue to operate within the Vos Logistics group under its own name. The takeover has no consequences upon employment opportunities.

Marc Schols, operational director Gehlen Schols: "With Vos Logistics we can better facilitate our customers in their growth and anticipate developments such as digitization and further sustainability. On our side, with our strategic location in Kerkrade and strong position in the area of part-loads in Germany, Belgium and the South of the Netherlands, we expect to be able to offer added value to Vos Logistics customers.

Executive Directors Elmar Gehlen and Roel Schols: “At the same time, with this transaction, we give substance to the succession issue and we ensure the continuity of our family business, which we have built up over several generations. Vos Logistics is a strong company that invests in innovation and sustainable logistics solutions."

Geert Dobbelaere, director of Vos Logistics: “Gehlen Schols is an asset for Vos Logistics. We have come to know the company and its employees as professional, knowledgeable and dedicated.
