On the 5th of September 2019, Vos Logistics celebrated their 75th anniversary: a mind-blowing event with a strong focus on the future, officially named IMAGINEVosLogistics100. Topics such as digitization, sustainability, development of the labor market and e-commerce received great attention throughout the event, as the company believes that these will be leading in the coming 25 years.

Around 600 guests from all across Europe got the chance to learn about the innovative views and ideas of Henrik Henriksson from Scania, Jacques van den Broek from Randstad, Tom Selten from Lightyear and Elisabeth Fretheim from Nikola Motor. Take Nikola Motor, for instance. The company is building trucks of the future, propelled by cutting-edge hydrogen-electric technology. Just recently they received an investment from CNH Industrial in their aim to develop zero-emission hydrogen and battery-powered trucks. While Scania and Randstad revealed their ideas on innovation in the next 25 years, Lightyear developed the most energy efficient electric passenger car in the world; a car that runs on solar power. A movement that is about to be a turning point in the history of mobility.

The four main topics mentioned to impact our industry in the next 25 years are:

  • Digitization and data analytics: These will make transactions more efficient and optimize the planning of resources, while at the same time it will also improve reliability and speed of logistics services.
  • Sustainability: The pressure to reduce emissions will drive the market towards bio energy, electricity and hydrogen. This will lead to cleaner, safer and quiet vehicles.
  • E-commerce: Changing consumer behavior driven by e-commerce will transform supply chains fundamentally.
  • Labor market: The constraints of labor in combination with robotizing and autonomous driving is probably the most challenging development of all. It will have great impact on everyone’s way of working and educating.


At this point in time, Vos Logistics is mostly known from its international transport activities. However, the company is taking a great effort to grow their business further in warehousing and distribution, but is also on the lookout for other opportunities that fit within their scope.
